Alaska Ocean Charters/Water Taxis...

Alaska offers thousands of miles of coastlines where a wide range of activities can be done in the marine environment. Depending on the area you wish to visit, one can choose from marine mammal and sea-bird viewing, glacier viewing, fishing for salmon or halibut, onshore wildlife viewing and transportation to remote areas. Charter boats and water taxis are commonly used in Alaska to transport sea kayakers and their boats, move people to remote coastlines for exploratory beach walks or to access public use cabins. The areas of the state where people commonly visit via charter boat are the Southeast Panhandle, Prince William Sound, Kachemak Bay, the Kodiak Archipelago and the Bristol Bay region.

Charter boats and water taxis allow the guest to learn a great deal from the captain and/or crew who are knowledgeable of the local area. Due to the size of the vessels, many of trips these companies offer are in areas where larger vessels can not operate allowing a more intimate experience in Alaska’s magnificent marine environment.

Choose your eco and cultural tourism provider by activity or location through AWRTA's PLAN YOUR TRIP database.
