Alaska Sea
Kayaking...
The coastline of Alaska is longer than that of the lower 48 states which means unparalleled opportunities for sea kayaking. Ocean paddling allows one to visit secluded coves framed against ancient Sitka spruce forests, roam among icebergs and within view of tidewater glaciers and to view wildlife undisturbed in their natural setting. Whether you are a beginner or experienced paddler, Alaska offers some of the best sea kayaking in the world.
Research is important before embarking on a ocean kayak trip in Alaska. Knowledge of the winds, tides and coastlines are essential. There are a number of excellent publications about sea kayaking in general as well as specific books on Alaska (see Recommended Reference Publications list below). The outfitters and guides listed below can also provide helpful information in planning a sea kayak experience in Alaska.
